Position Overview
Senior Solution Architects focus on large scale programs that encompass multiple related IT solutions often spanning the boundaries of projects, products, systems, and infrastructure. They have a deep understanding of business goals, objectives, and processes. They provide necessary leadership, analysis and design tasks related to support the development of technology solutions to ensure that solutions meet business needs and align with architectural principles.
Operating within the Epic Integrations space, this position has a focus on interfaces and data flow to and from our Epic EHR system. This requires expertise across HL7 v2, FHIR, Epic Bridges, Epic Aura, and the Corepoint interface engine. This role is responsible for helping define Epic’s role in the future of Exact’s Kafka-enabled event-driven reference architecture by providing deep technical analysis of integration options, comprehensive architecture designs, and detailed build recommendations that can be handed to application teams. They are also responsible for proactively ensuring that our Epic EHR is meeting the current and future integration needs of the business and our customers.
Essential Duties
Include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Creates architectural designs, documentation to guide and contextualize solution development across medium sized products, services, projects, and systems.
- Conducts architectural review processes to drive discussions regarding necessary modifications to project solution architecture to overcome design challenges or deviations observed in project design.
- Accountable for evaluation, design, and analysis for the implementation of a solutions architecture for business applications or technologies.
- Translates business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint to achieve business objectives and documents all solution architecture design and analysis work.
- Collaborates with project teams to ensure detailed system analysis, requirements gathering, solution design and project execution.
- Collaborates with IT project managers and service delivery personnel to ensure that technical solution proposals are cohesive and support the business needs while integrating all necessary solution components to effect the desired change.
- Provides consulting support to domain architects & mid-level managers within agile teams to ensure the product is aligned with overall enterprise architecture. Developing leadership skills and expertise.
- Participates in vendor selection for specific IT initiatives.

- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, Information Systems or High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 4 years of experience as outlined in the essential duties.
- 8+ years of experience in a software or technology related role.
- 4+ years of experience working in an architectural role designing systems at a program level.
- Familiar with multiple, diverse technologies, platforms, and processing environments.
- Solid understanding of product management, agile principles and development methodologies and capability of supporting agile teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact, and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt.
- Solid understanding of architecture design principles, integration frameworks and patterns.
- Ability to grasp business needs and complex technical requirements.
- Developing conflict resolution and negotiation.
- Developing influencing & change management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Salary Range:
$105,000.00 - $168,000.00
The annual base salary shown is a national range for this position on a full-time basis and may differ by hiring location. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms, conditions, and eligibility requirements of the applicable plans.
