Role Description
We need a talented software engineer to develop customer-facing products and enterprise tools that power new telco deployments and market expansion. This position requires a well-rounded skill set up and down the stack, but leans towards back-end and application development. Engineering at Google Fiber offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of enterprise products and engineering challenges including:
- CRM/ERP
- Network monitoring and device management
- Financial and accounting systems
- Analytics, reporting and large-scale data processing
- Field service and dispatch management
In this role, you'll:
- Work cross-functionally with leaders, UX, and end users to build features and shape a long-term technical roadmap.
- Architect enterprise tools and systems from the ground-up.
- Scale and improve existing Google Fiber software to meet the needs of our growing business and customer base.
- Leverage tools and platforms in an ecosystem of third-party SaaS platforms, OSS frameworks, and Google Cloud.
At a minimum we'd like you to have:
- 5+ years of relevant experience with software development and implementation.
- 5+ years developing enterprise software and systems.
- Experience programming in one or more of the following languages:
Ruby, Python, Java, Javascript - Communication and interpersonal acumen.
- Experience developing APIs and integrating third-party SaaS.
- Prior Work with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to create high scalable production systems.
- Knowledge of SQL and ORMs.
It's preferred if you have:
- Previous experience with large-scale Ruby on Rails applications.
- Experience in the Salesforce and Google Cloud ecosystems.
- Basic knowledge of IAAC like Terraform and understanding of GKE and dockerfiles
- Strong system design skills and architectural experience.
- Developed systems at an ISP or telecom/wireless company.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $133 K - $194 K + bonus + equity + benefits. As pay varies by location, your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
