SENIOR RISK MANAGER
I. SUMMARY
The Senior Risk Manager will be responsible for managing the company’s insurance policies, providing strategic direction for the inter-departmental team that works on claims, and ensuring that the company is adequately covered for all potential risks. The Senior Risk Manager should have extensive knowledge of insurance policies, strong leadership and analytical skills, and a proven track record of negotiating favorable insurance terms.
II. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Work is generally performed in a traditional office environment. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer are required. Working hours may vary and evening or weekend work may be required. You may be required to lift and carry light weights.

SENIOR RISK MANAGER

II. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the company’s inter-departmental insurance team, providing direction and guidance to ensure that the team is meeting business goals and objectives
- Evaluate the company’s insurance needs and identify appropriate policies to provide adequate coverage for potential risks
- Negotiate with insurance providers to obtain favorable insurance terms and cost-effectivecoverage for the company
- Manage relationships with insurance providers and ensure that the company’s insurance policies are up-to-date and meet the company’s needs
- Oversee the processing of insurance claims and ensure that all claims are handled in a timely and efficient manner
- Analyze/assess risks to the company and develop strategies to mitigate those risks
- Developand maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, such as finance, SHEQ, and legal teams, to ensure that insurance considerations are taken into account in all business decisions
- Stay up-to-date with developments in the insurance industry and adjust insurance policies as needed to stay current
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on the status of the company’s insurance policies, risks, and claims
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field
- At least 10 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of insurance policies and risk management
- In-depth knowledge of insurance laws, regulations, and best practices
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of the scrap metal recycling industry is a plus
