Position Purpose: Lead formulation development across EMEA Family sector.


Position Summary:

Reporting to the EMEA Family Care Wet Wipes Manager (though the position will be located at our Kimberly-Clark Research & Engineering offices in Neenah, Wisconsin), we are seeking a Wipes Formulator with primarily responsibility for developing new and existing formulations for the Family Care sector. The incumbent will,

  • Collaborate with Research Technical Leaders, Business Units and External partners to translate consumer, business and technical insights into technology opportunities.
  • Have development responsibility for all aspects of formulation across a range of technologies (surfactant solutions, emulsions, wax blends, etc.), substrates (nonwovens and dry tissue) and networks/geographies.



Responsibilities:

  • Enhance customer value by leading the design and delivery of formulation development, via effective translation of consumer, business, and technical insights and requirements.
  • Execute formulation, claims substantiation and consumer studies/testing.
  • Develop and manage formulation raw material specifications and participate in change and design control processes.
  • Collaborate with Global and regional formulation teams to create and transfer formulation knowledge. Provide and drive formulation improvement/change recommendations.
  • Provide formulation, chemistry and troubleshooting support to business partners, i.e., Procurement, Manufacturing, etc.
  • Protect formulation technologies through patents and IP.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

Required:

  • Technical knowledge of and experience in formulation science and product development.
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Chemistry and/or Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in formulation roles. Formulated wipes and cosmetic experience preferred, plus understanding of different material substrates, i.e., nonwovens and tissue paper.
  • Ability to travel (20% max.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive can-do attitude, plus excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills.
  • Be comfortable with utilizing people networks and remote working.
  • Knowledge of EU Cosmetic and Biocides Regulation would be advantageous.
