Product Merchandiser
New Pig’s growth has taken us beyond our core industrial B2B market space and now includes a broader set of customers in commercial and consumer markets. We are rapidly expanding our product portfolios to include new lines that will enable us to penetrate further into B2B spaces and also reach new customers and markets with interesting and relevant product solutions, while maintaining the exceptionally high brand standards and product quality we are famous for.
We are seeking an experienced, hard-driving, fast-paced Product Merchandiser that has a proven track record of building profitable product lines, identifying strategic vendor partners, negotiating advantageous pricing and terms, and doing whatever is necessary to rapidly on-board and commercialize the new products.
Responsibilities include:
- Identifying trends within the industrial/commercial supply and equipment market spaces
- Analyzing business metrics (sales performance, margins & profitability, key customer segments, customer buying patterns, channel mix, seasonality) to surface leverageable product opportunities
- Performing competitive gap analysis to determine voids in current product portfolio and determine what adjustments are required
- Sourcing new products and new suppliers
- Evaluating product candidates for potential addition to product portfolio
- Negotiating with vendors for optimal pricing, lead times, MOQ’s, product specs, coop $, rebates, and other terms
- Building Exclusivity and Private Label programs with suppliers for key product lines
- Informing strategic vision for product growth opportunities with new (for New Pig) categories that extend beyond our existing core business
- Developing extensive product & systems knowledge
- Engaging with a diverse set of product lines in collaboration with PMs that manage the day-to-day operations of those categories
- All other duties as assigned or directed
- Adhere to New Pig’s Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- 5+ years of product merchandising and buying experience
- Strong negotiator
- Excellent communicator
- Must be self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently
- Keen attention to details and deadlines
- Website and catalog experience
- Proficient in MS Word & Excel and ability to quickly learn and operate company software platforms
Preferably, this position will be located at our Tipton, PA headquarters. However, we may consider a hybrid or remote work arrangement for the right candidate.
