Position Overview:
Navistar has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Product Development Associate. The Build Operations team creates prototype vehicles used to validate designs prior to production. This team supports competitive benchmarking and early concept development. Commercial vehicle transportation, recovery, heavy haul and performance driving are also key support areas.
Responsibilities:
  • Operate a commercial vehicle tow truck to transport and perform recovery operations of internal fleet vehicles
  • Must be a skilled driver capable of heavy haul and performance driving for vehicle testing
  • Hands-on and with the mechanical aptitude to perform repairs and diagnostics
  • Maintaining and managing electronic driver logs according to FMCSA requirements
  • Ability to use verbal and written feedback to communicate vehicle performance observations with research and development teams
Minimum Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree
  • At least 1 year of experience supporting engineering activities
OR
  • At least 2 years of experience supporting engineering activities
Additional Requirements:
  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
Desired Skills:
  • Desired 5 plus years of commercial vehicle driving experience, including heavy haul
  • Desired 5 plus years of commercial tow truck experience transporting class 8
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform mechanical repairs
  • Ability to meet FMCSA and Navistar DOT driver requirements
  • Class A CDL (no manual transmission restriction)
  • Passenger endorsement desired but not a minimum requirement
  • Up to 75% travel required, shifts can be dynamic, nights and weekends as needed by job assignment
  • Verbal and written fluency in English
  • MS Office
