Senior Paralegal (Remote or Hybrid) Job at Zulily

The Opportunity
We have an opening for an experienced paralegal to join our Zulily Legal team. This is a generalist role for a small in-house Legal team. The paralegal will be working on a wide variety of matters across our organization, including privacy, employment, litigation, and subpoenas. Additionally, this position will provide a variety of project management for our team as needed.
Our Zulily corporate headquarters is in Seattle, WA. This position reports to the VP of General Counsel and is available for remote work in the following states: WA, OH, NV, PA, TX, NC, GA, NJ, VA and FL

Within our legal team, we are staffed with professionals supporting a variety of business units including Marketing, Merchandising, Technology, and Human Resources. You’ll work with attorneys, a peer paralegal, a legal assistant and our contract and operations manager. This position will give you opportunities to solve problems, create documents that support new or changing business initiatives, and present trainings and materials to our in-house clients. In our fun yet busy retail environment, developing trusted cross-functional partnerships is critical and will enable you to inform and influence your direct team members as well as our managers and leaders at all levels or the organization.

Your Impact
- Review and negotiate data privacy agreements with vendors
- Collect and organize due diligence on data privacy activities in compliance with applicable laws, conduct data privacy reviews and audits, and support remediation efforts and data protection impact assessments
- Research and monitor changes in U.S. and International data privacy laws
- Support employment and commercial litigation needs, including litigation holds and e-discovery
- Assist with EEOC and other agency claims
- Oversee Zulily subpoena process and triage legal notices
What You Bring
- Experience with litigation management, e-discovery, and subpoenas
- Familiarity with privacy requirements for e-commerce retailers
- Experience researching, interpreting, and applying concepts based on law, case law, company policy, and procedure
- Ability to convey detailed, important, complex information to others accurately
- AA or bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years in a paralegal role
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 suite of products, including facility with Excel and PowerPoint
