Senior Mechatronic Systems Engineer Position Description

Our new Systems Engineer will join our growing Wedge Bonding team located in Santa Ana, CA. You will be part of our Engineering Department consisting of Electrical, Software, Systems, Systems and Process engineers that collaborate with one another to develop and to take leading role communicating with K&S sub-contractors and partners for cost and performance for our high-tech assembly equipment. You will be part of a highly skilled and motivated team and will be encouraged to take on the responsibility of a broad range of tasks. Although our products and solutions are complex you will be personally influencing the end results. Within K&S you will be working in an informal atmosphere, solving challenging projects and developing personal growth.

• Research of new laser and ultrasonic technologies and applications to problems at hand
• Automation and execution of system testing
• Creation and documentation of system test plans
• Product requirements definition for equipment development
• Root cause and system Failure analysis

Requirements

• Bachelors in Mechanical, Mechatronic or equivalent Engineering; required
• Master or advanced degree; a plus
• Mechatronics background is preferred, familiar with electro-mechanical systems; preferred
• 5 or more years of experience in R&D or Product Engineering, Semiconductor equipment; preferred
• Mechanical and mathematical modeling tools: Python, Visual Basic, Matlab, Excel Macros, MathCad
• Hands-on experience with test set-up, troubleshooting, design of experiments, lab equipment, etc. (for example using test equipment such as laser displacement, thermal sensor, accelerometers, Arduino, raspberry pi); preferred
• Experience with precision systems engineering design; preferred
• Experience working with vendors and sub-contractors; preferred
• Experience with solid modeling CAD software; a plus
