Position Summary
The Senior Manager – Product is responsible for connecting with people in their market, identifying the problems that plague them and envisioning solutions to their problems, be it a product or service. Providing a commercial outlook, articulating solutions, and opportunity to stakeholders the Senior Manager - Product builds consensus to support the vision and substantiate the opportunity. In this capacity the Senior Manager - Product will take ownership of their product lines through the full lifecycle of a product including iterative improvements of existing products and services.

- Manage portfolio of products and services including systems, sensors, components, and software.
- Develop and maintain a roadmap of products including feature improvements, new features, generational releases, and obsolescence
- Generate and maintain Business Cases and Value Statements to support and justify product roadmaps. This includes product margins
and growth.
- Develop product pricing and strategy to maximize company value. These efforts include the analysis and recognition of total cost of
ownership.
- Oversee and prioritize current product backlogs for product maintenance, enhancements, and new features
- Assign and prioritize development objectives within their assigned Product team
- Empowered as Product Owner for their product lines for all Agile processes, and being deciding voice for product, project, and
development activities
- Perform Voice of Customer work including round table discussions on current products, new products, and the future of your markets.
This includes collecting testimonial and value statement evidence of new product developments and current products
- Compile market trends, growth areas, decline areas, emerging technology, and competitive product information by product line and
territory.
- Identify channels to market for current products and new product ideas
- Identify new product opportunities and growth areas including expansions of current products, new products in current markets, and new
products in new markets.
- Represent the company at related conferences and speaking events, committees, regulatory bodies, etc.
- Support OEM account management as it relates to support and growth of assigned product lines
- Oversee market value studies to provide evidence of the value of our products, and to explore new problem statements and value
opportunities
- Actively manage product data systems to capture and analyze field data to develop and support meaningful value statements and
customer usage. This includes managing devices and subscriptions from our Data Service Provider.
- Meet with customers and other entities in your markets to develop strategic relationships and partnerships
- Promote products at trade shows and key customer events
- Be the SME (Subject Matter Expert) on how customers purchase, install, and use the products and services; on customer needs and
sensitivities; and on special regulations and requirements of markets and geographies
- Work with Product Engineering and Manufacturing to bring the product vision to life
- Participate in the Marketing, Operations, Sales, and Support activities for the support of current products and development of new
products
- Create and manage product configuration, kitting, and packaging strategies that maximize customer and company value.
- Track and prioritize warranty and RMA product issues and improvements
- Participate in Product Engineering and Product Support activities such as product validation, specification creation, and field issue
resolution
- Identify and participate in self-development and growth opportunities to develop your own abilities as an individual contributor and leader.
- Coordinating and driving escalation meetings with internal and external stakeholders to resolve product issues.
- Approve and sign off on all change orders that affect assigned product lines.
- Communicating and reporting product line topics to the organization and the leadership team.
- This position is an on-site position due to face-to-face interaction with teams, clients, and other employees along with the use of on-site
equipment.
- Traveling as directed usually with other company personnel to accomplish the tasks required. (0 - 25%)
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge,
Skills, and Abilities)
- Completed business or technical undergraduate degree and/or training or equivalent
- 5-7 years of project and/or product management experience preferred
- Extensive and in-depth products, systems, and industry knowledge within assigned markets
- Strong oral communication skills including meeting facilitation, trainings, and presentations
- Strong ability to lead large groups of multi-disciplinary teams spanning engineering, manufacturing, and business functions within a
company
- Ability to speak with a wide variety of people to understand their needs and wants while also asking questions to gain insight and leading
group discussions
- Ability to convey information in written form both narratively and technically
- Strong ability to generate, collect, analyze, and understand information, both qualitative and quantitative. This includes the ability to
calculate and make judgements based on financial spreadsheets
- General capability to understand and develop spreadsheets, PowerPoints, general documentation, and to perform analytics
- Proactive and self-driven
