Job Responsibilities
Located in Upper Mount Bethel, PA
The Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for all aspects of repair, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance related to production and engineering operations at Air Liquide Advanced Materials. Included is troubleshooting and repair of equipment associated with all gas manifolds and the associated facility equipment. Leading of the maintenance technicians and ensuring efficient work flow daily. Acting point of contact for the maintenance department when the Maintenance Manager is unavailable or out of the office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily
- Install and/or modify chemical processing equipment, as well as repair and troubleshoot auxiliary equipment associated with all chemical processing equipment and other facility equipment
- Promote safety and organization within the maintenance department
- Review and update Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures
- Act as interim leader and point of contact when maintenance manager is unavailable
- Recommend Preventative Maintenance intervals based on repair data
- Responsible for the execution of the Preventative Maintenance Program and the Monitoring and Measuring Devices Program
- Implementation of engineering improvement projects
- Perform all component rebuilds and calibrations
- Ensure efficiency and productivity on the production floor
- Understand and follow the process flow within chemical processing equipment
- Understand and perform valid leak checks
- Follow all work instructions and safety protocol
- Ability to wear a full face tight fitting respirator and a fully encapsulated (Level A) ER suit, Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), or any other tight-fitting and/or supplied air respirators (SAR)
- Ability to medically pass a respiratory test and physical test in order to wear a full face respirator as required
- Successfully complete all assigned and required training
- Ability to roll cylinders- Rolling cylinders requires an individual to tilt a cylinder slightly with one hand, and use the other hand to move the cylinder forward by rolling it.
- Fitness for duty, including but not limited to: ability to lift 50 pounds and have the ability to climb ladders.
- Actively participate on ALAM’s emergency response (ER) team including as an ER entry team member, which requires wearing a tight fitting full-face respirator
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand and sit for long periods. The employee frequently is required to use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls with gloved hands and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, lie on stomach or back or crawl and talk and hear. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and be able to use proper equipment to move larger heavier objects. The use of a respirator is required to perform this job.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years hands-on experience in an equipment maintenance role
- Gas (Pressure) system component theory and operation
- Vacuum system component theory and operation
- Ability to read and construct from engineering drawings
- General equipment maintenance and mechanical skills
- Tube bending skills
- Computer Knowledge in MS office and Google platform
- Must be and remain clean shaven at all times
- Fitness for duty, including but not limited to: ability to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders

- 10+ years hands-on experience in an equipment maintenance role
- High tech manufacturing experience
- ERT certified
- Experience using CMMS
- Effective communication skills
