The Strategy, Planning, and Operations (SPO) team is looking for more innovators to drive strategy, operational excellence, and steer cross-functional teams building outstanding products.

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

• You are a strong leader, results-driven, and excellent communicator with experience in a fast paced, high achievement-oriented environment
• In your first 30 days, you will quickly come up to speed on our product portfolio and get familiarized with how product launches are managed at VMware
• By day 90, you will play a key role in supporting product launches while building relationships with cross functional stakeholders
• After 180 days, you will be managing product launches for the company and support key strategic and operational topics as needed

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

• Lead launch strategy, planning, and execution for the CIBG portfolio of products
• Define the launch plan of record (POR) for activities affecting cross-functional stakeholder groups
• Evolve launch process and tools to support continuous release models and improve their efficiency
• Partner closely with the senior leadership team and key functional stakeholders (Marketing, Sales, Services, Comms, etc.) to ensure launch readiness execution and advance key strategic initiatives
• Drive key elements of organization-level business cadence, including Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), annual investment planning, quarterly budget and headcount planning, and OKR reporting
• Manage communications (e.g., executive updates, project reviews, etc.) to inform key stakeholder groups, facilitate decision making, and ensure strategic alignment

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?

You’ll be joining SPO’s Business Operations group and report to the Director of Business Operations. The team fosters a culture of collaboration, high performance, and outcome orientation. The team partners with the GM and his leadership team to run and grow the $6+ billion cloud infrastructure business.

Where is this role located?

Flexible: The location of this role is flexible within the United States. Work could be done from our Palo Alto, CA office some days during a week and other days from a non-VMware location.
