THE POSITION
Under direction of department management, Senior Infrastructure Services Analysts monitor various infrastructure. Senior Infrastructure Services Analysts may be responsible for; staff supervision, network; servers; unified communications; Cloud-based services; database technologies; GIS; enterprise Tool Administration; mainframe; information security, or endpoint management; and perform other related duties as required.

THE CURRENT VACANCIES

We are filling multiple Senior Analyst positions overseeing varying infrastructure technologies. These technical areas of responsibility can include network; servers; unified communications; Cloud-based services; database; GIS; Enterprise Tools Administration; DevOps; mainframe; information security; or endpoint management.


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications the ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent technical knowledge and skills, planning, customer service, problem solving, and decision making.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EITHER I

Experience:

The equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in the class of Infrastructure Services Analyst in the Alameda County classified service.

OR II

Experience:

The equivalent of three (3) years of full-time increasingly responsible infrastructure experience (in one or more of the areas described in the Description section), that included design and implementation of enterprise systems requiring documentation and project management. (Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of experience.)

Special Requirement:

  • Must be available to participate in an on-call rotation and to work after hours, weekends and holidays.
  • Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid class C California driver’s license may be required for some positions.

NOTE: The Civil Service Commission may modify the above Minimum Qualifications in the announcement of an examination.

EXAMINATION COMPONENTS

THE EXAMINATION WILL CONSIST OF THE FOLLOWING STEPS:

  • A review of candidates' applications to verify possession of minimum requirements. Those candidates who possess the minimum requirements for the class will move on to the next step in the examination process.
  • A review of candidates’ Supplemental Questionnaires to select the best qualified applicants to continue in the process.
  • An oral interview which will be weighted as 100% of the candidate's final examination score. The oral interview may contain situational exercises.

CANDIDATES MUST ATTAIN A QUALIFYING RATING ON EACH PORTION OF THIS EXAMINATION.
