The Senior Grant Analyst is a critical member of the Finance team, completing grant funding reporting functions for a variety of service areas which includes early childhood education and intervention and youth-serving programs. As the Senior Grant Analyst, you will serve as the primary contract contact for both internal program leadership and external governmental grant monitors, and you will provide fiscal review and analysis, budget preparation, and financial reporting for assigned programs. The Senior Grant Analyst reports to the Associate Director of Contract Management.

What you’ll do:

  • Prepare, review, and monitor monthly and quarterly financial reports for assigned grant-funded programs.
  • Conduct detailed budget analyses and projections, estimating current and future year costs.
  • Serve as the primary fiscal contact for assigned government funders and agency program leadership.
  • Reconcile accounts receivables detail to general ledger and proposes adjustments needed to clear open discrepancies.
  • Assist program staff with annual budget preparation and analysis of funder and internal agency budgets.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • You have at least 5 years of relevant business experience, preferably in budget preparation and financial analysis.
  • You are knowledgeable about accounting principles.
  • You’re highly proficient with Microsoft Office products and accounting systems; having Great Plains experience is a plus.
  • You are able to effectively communicate technical information with non-technical audiences.
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a desire to provide high quality, supportive service to agency staff and leadership.
  • You’re comfortable working autonomously but also value collaborating with a team to reach shared goals.
  • You have an eye for detail, and strong analytical skills, which make you a creative and effective problem-solver.

The details:

  • Location: Office based position at 200 West Monroe Street
  • Schedule: Full-time, salaried; general business hours with some flexibility for special projects.
  • Staff are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and to submit proof of their vaccination status before their start date unless they have an agency approved medical or religious exemption.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: Range is $70K-$75; offers are commensurate with experience.

  • Winter Break: The agency is closed between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. This paid break allows staff to spend time with their families around the holidays without using their accrued time off balances.
