Responsibilities:
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for providing analytical and decision support with the goal of improving performance of the organization’s Warehouse and Transportation Operations. This role reports to Manager, FP&A
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain and lead enhancement and development of complex analytical tools, reports and ad hoc models to track spend and operational metrics. This tool and models are used to analyze and interpret data
- Support the enhancement of current processes and implementation of new ones through diligent process design and documentation
- Communicate and guide Shipping operations with Region/Branch leads on solutions implementation as needed
- Work with management to identify operations initiatives, track and drive compliance across the organization
- Develop reporting mechanisms to inform management of operations financial results
- Responsible for analyzing variances to budget/forecast and developing insightful modeling to explain results
- Support all financial month-end close, planning and forecasting requirements
- Aid in Audit, M&A, and other business needs as they arise
- Ad hoc reports and analysis as needed
- Make recommendations to accounting departments bases on data analysis
- A good understanding of Financial Statements and P&L's
- B.A./B.S in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 4+ years of relevant work experience
- Advanced modeling capabilities and technical skills with a variety of systems, especially Microsoft Excel
- Highly analytical, with proven ability to synthesize and analyze large amounts of data, develop insights and recommendations, and transform them into easily understood and compelling presentations
- Strong analytic skills and intellectual curiosity with ability to summarize results or findings
- Build strong work relationships within Finance and Accounting as well as cross-functional groups and across multiple layers of the organization
- Self-starter, multi-tasker, and ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail, time-management, and communication skills
- Ability to re-prioritize and be flexible in a fluid environment
- Experience with Financial Reporting and Forecast Tools a Plus: Planful or similar multi-dimensional financial database and Planning & Forecasting tool
- Experience with Power BI or Planful software is a big plus
