Summary: Develop and execute the regional Protein Processor segment strategic business development plans and activities aligned with the Purpose driven GFNA Long Term strategy and Operating plan targets. Drive profitable Protein Processor segment growth in alignment with the global and business unit commercial team members.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement regional customer segment plan and customer plans to drive BU level execution of regional strategies and operating plans.
- Function as a steward of our Purpose and Values in all external and internal actions and activities.
- Work collaboratively with the BU leadership teams (GMs, Leaders of Supply Chain, Sales, etc.) on segment and regional/global customers strategies and execution.
- Lead the account plan management, segment strategies, scorecards and project funnel review using our CRM and BI tools.
- Achieve planned revenue, volume, contribution margin, and other critical P&L objectives for the segment.
- Foster core capability integration and new capability growth, with priority on Health & Nutrition, Sustainability and Alternative Protein.
- Partner with Marketing, R&D, and Culinary to develop and implement commercial innovation to drive profitability and H&N in the segment.
- Balance between strategic planning and overseeing and ensuring local execution of strategic plans.
- Build and lead the regional segment team. Lead people and organization planning efforts through focus on sales organizational design, people development, DIB&E, performance management and succession planning.
- Implement the Global Business Development sales competencies across the regional Protein Processor segment and across the business units.
- Drive unit execution of pricing increases and contribution margin improvement strategies for the segment.
- Using targeted BI and Sales tools (Challenger, CRM, Value-based Selling), manage the sales process including overall sales financial management, training, account plan development/execution, segment performance metrics and sales funnel management.
- Develop and maintain strong regional and global customer relationships.
- Build our customer acquisition strategy in Protein Processors, aligned to the LRP30.
- Support organization and strategic management of complex sales presentations, proposals, RFPs, contracts, and negotiations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related disciplines.
- 10 years’ experience in food industry sales and sales management.
- Ingredient experience preferred.
- Demonstrated track record of working with cross-functional teams, in addition to working autonomously.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and high priority tasks.
- High attention to detail for both written and visual context.
- Interpersonal skills to interact with diverse groups of individuals and functional areas within the company and outside the company.
- Experience with CRM.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required.
- Travel 50%.
