Overview

The Sr Developer’s role is to develop and enhance in-house software applications or extensions by coding with a technical language to meet business requirements and business objectives. This can include taking technical specifications and developing an application or integration of data between applications, testing, as well as, completing the appropriate technical documentation. The developer may also be responsible for delivering support to end-users in the organization for specific code, including troubleshooting code.

Specialized Skills and Technologies

  • Expert understanding of HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Expert understanding of jQuery (including creating custom plugins)
  • Expert understanding of ReactJS
  • Expert understanding of Implementing Analytics tagging
  • Expert understanding of ADA compliance & remediation
  • Experience with React Native a plus
  • Strong understanding of TypeScript
  • Must have experience with GraphQL (Both server side & Client side)
  • Must have experience with Node.js
  • Must have experience with Express.js
  • o Hosting
  • o API development (REST & Micro Services)
  • o Server-Side Rendering
  • Experience with Knex is a plus
  • Experience writing JavaScript unit tests
  • Must have experience in project setup & configuration with Webpack, Babel, Lint (jslint, prettier, etc) setup & configuration
  • Must have a good understanding of Git and continuous integration
  • Must have experience implementing JWT Tokens & OAuth
  • Strong understanding of modern best practices
  • Experience with security best practices & OWASP 10
  • Experience with Cloud Native (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus
  • Willingness to guide/help/mentor more junior members
  • Proven experience as a Front-End Developer or equivalent role
  • Must have excellent attention to detail
  • Must be a strong team-player with ability to work in SAFE Agile teams
  • Experience working in Agile
  • Experience working in agile project management tools (Jira, Version One, etc)

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve in a team leader capacity with large-scale Application Development projects/programs
  • Drive technical validity of the solution
  • Coordinate issues resolution activities with varied stakeholders
  • Drive the development of business and technical process documentation and training materials
  • Review entire problem logs, identify recurring problems, and complete steps for long-term resolution
  • Provide coaching and development to more junior Application Developers
  • Coordinate the work of 3rd party development teams
  • Participate in Agile teams
  • Drive Behavior-Driven-Design (BDD) process
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of work experience and education
  • Two (2)+ years in application development or comparable experience
  • Experience developing and supporting production applications including limited experience coordinating and leading development teams/projects
  • Experience working in large complex technology projects including those with offshore teams
  • Strong team player with the ability to work with multiple stakeholders across a variety of functions as well as able to work independently
  • Excellence in communicating and presenting complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, mathematic, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop and manage an action plan including strong attention to detail
  • Ability to demonstrate the Agile delivery values of Openness, Commitment, Respect, Courage, and Focus

  • Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or adding machine
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
