COMPANY DESCRIPTION: Leisnoi is an Alaska Native Village Corporation operating several subsidiaries working both in and out of the SBA 8(a) program providing environmental, construction, and other services to the Federal government as well as commercially. Summary/Objective

The Senior Controller manages the company’s subsidiary and corporate accounting department and works closely with the CFO to ensure that company and its subsidiaries accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles and conform to the Defense Contracting Auditing Agency (DCAA) guidelines. This position provides financial information about all company activities to assist the CFO, management, shareholders, and other users to make educated economic decisions about the company's future. Only experienced candidates proficient in Deltek Costpoint setup and use should apply.

Essential Job Functions

Manage the activities of the corporate/subsidiary accounting department and supervise and mentor accounting department staff.

Perform the monthly accounting close efficiently and timely and provide detailed monthly financial reports analyzing actual to budget variances.

Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value.

Work closely with CFO to meet reporting deadlines.

Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.

Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner.

Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.

Assist the company’s consultants in the setup and launch of Deltek Costpoint, Time and Expense, Payroll and Human Resources modules.

Travel will not exceed 25%.

Specific Duties:

Provide overall daily management of the corporate/subsidiary Accounting Department to include general ledger accounting, financial reporting, cost accounting, payroll/ timekeeping, accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Supervise and mentor accounting department staff.

Establish and foster an effective means of cost accounting in a common administrative services environment with the company and its subsidiaries.

Establish, monitor, and report the Government Contracting rates (Fringe, Overhead, and General and Administrative)

Assist with the administration of proposal, contract negotiations, contract execution, invoicing, and contract closeout as needed.

Coordinate and review monthly financial close activities, prepare consolidated and consolidating financial statements, supervise and review journal entries for account reconciliation process.

Ensure the integrity of financial information and protect monetary resources through a comprehensive system of internal accounting controls and documented policies, processes, and procedures.

Supervise accounts receivable processing (billing and collection) and inventory control including Wide Area Workflow submissions.

Coordinate budget management function and monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.

Maintain fixed asset records and related depreciation schedule.

Maintain long-term debt schedules and process debt service payments.

Assist CFO with cash management and forecasting; local, state, and federal tax compliance; and debt compliance.

Assist CFO with preparation of reports and submissions for monthly submission and preparation for quarterly Board of Directors meetings.

Interface with external auditors to facilitate timely completion of the annual financial statement audit.

Responsible for continuously assessing current operations to identify and implement efficiencies.

Perform special projects and analysis and other duties as directed by the CFO.

Qualifications:

  • Only candidates with demonstrable hands on and proficient experience with Deltek Costpoint need apply.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in a progressive accounting role including supervision of accounting staff.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to direct accounting in a multi-business corporate environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Entrepreneurial team player who can multi-task
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and self-reliant
