Job Description

Responsible for managing multi-disciplinary corporate growth projects including those involving third party business partners. As a key member of the IKO team, the Sr. Construction Project Manager is primarily responsible for ensuring projects are delivered to defined scope, on-time, and within budget using the company's project management framework and methodology. Selected candidate will be the lead Sr. Construction Project Manager on a Green-field site expansion.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for preparing project evaluations, and then subsequent planning and execution of corporate growth projects while adhering to budget, scope and schedule requirements.
  • Accountable for a consistent project management framework and that best practices are adhered to throughout all phases of the project life cycle.
  • Facilitates the creation project scope and implementation plans by working closely with a cross functional team that may include research and development, marketing, sales, operations, IS and other departments.
  • Provides leadership and motivation to cross-functional project teams.
  • Works with vendors to clarify scope of work, payment terms, delivery and other terms and conditions.
  • Collaborates closely with project sponsors and senior management to support the determination of project scope, priority and resource allocation.
  • Responsible for the execution of projects within budget, on time
  • Encourages collaborations and provides mentorship to internal Project Managers and Project Coordinators.
  • Dealing with all federal/state governmental bodies, regulatory agencies, utilities providers, municipalities to ensure project is executed based on required permits, compliance certificates, rules and regulations.
  • Protecting owner’s interests in executing the project
  • Communication to senior managers and executives on project updates.
  • Other duties as required
Basic Qualifications
  • A minimum of 20 years working experience in project engineering, project coordination, project controls, project management, and plant management of industrial plants design, supply and construction.
  • Knowledge or experience of equipment used in the production of non-woven fiberglass based materials or paper industry
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Controls Engineering
  • PMP is an asset
  • Experience working in construction and industrial business sectors.
  • Track record of successfully managing multiple projects and consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Experience building strong working relationships with senior employees and third parties business partners.
  • Well organized with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (word, excel, powerpoint), project management software, AutoCAD and 3-D modeling and use of Gantt charts.
  • Flexible with a good tolerance for ambiguity.
  • Proven ability to lead, influence, and build motivation.
