Description

SAIC is hiring a Cloud Engineer to become a part of the SAIC Cloud One Migration Team focused on application analysis, automation, and administration. The selected candidate will be part of a team developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) for large system migrations to Cloud One AWS, Azure, Oracle, and Google Cloud Platforms (GCP). This is remote work that may be performed from any location within the United States.

The Cloud Engineer will be supporting the Cloud One program under the Air Force Lifecycle Management Center Office for Network Integration (AFLCMC/HNI). Cloud One is an existing global, interconnected, virtualized, hybrid, and IT infrastructure hosting mission systems, applications, services, and data serves the U.S. Air Force (USAF) and other Government Customers. Cloud One facilitates the Government's efforts to migrate applications to a cloud environment, allowing the closure of data centers to support the Data Center Optimization Initiative (DCOI) and allowing for increased efficiencies across the entire spectrum of the USAF operations.

Daily activities may include:

• Infrastructure automation
• System administration, user creation, active directory
• OS base image creation through automation
• Configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting of cloud assets
• Proactively identify and resolve operational, tooling and process inefficiencies
• Document design, project decisions, and Standard Operating Procedures

Qualifications

REQUIRED CLEARANCE:

• Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience along with cloud certification, and in-depth knowledge of at least one cloud product (AWS, Azure, OCI, GCP). Masters and three (3) years or more experience along with cloud certification, and in-depth knowledge of at least one cloud product (AWS, Azure, OCI, GCP).

DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Solutions Architect certification
• Experience with DevSecOps tool chains to include:
  • Jenkins
  • Atlassian tools, GitLab, or GitHub
  • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (e.g. Apache Guacamole, Amazon Workspaces, Azure Virtual Desktop, VMWare Horizon, etc.)
  • Identity Provider & Management
  • Network Security
  • Infrastructure and Configuration as Code (Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
• In-depth understanding of, and experience of the following:
  • Networking, VPNs, IaaS, PaaS, SQL, Domain Controllers, Active Directory, SSO, F5, Barracuda, Backup and Storage
  • Demonstrated experience with customer collaboration, design, implementation, and participation in project planning
• Experience preparing technical documentation including design, asset inventory, diagrams
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, or other modern software development methods/practices
• Experience supporting USAF, cloud, or software development projects
