The government client requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for any/all positions that will require travel.
Full vaccination (against COVID-19) is defined as: an individual must be either two weeks past the last shot of a two-shot
vaccination sequence, or two weeks past the only shot of a one-shot vaccination sequence.
Description of Duties:
The Senior Boundary Protection Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and
Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:
- Support the 24x7x365 Network Operations Team
- Have primary duties that include design, operations and maintenance of the MDA general service network infrastructure,
primarily troubleshooting and managing configurations on network routers, switches, encryptors, proxies, and firewalls.
Perform network and firewall engineering, monitoring and administration functions as required, provide initial analysis and
troubleshooting on issues identified with network monitoring tools and provide troubleshooting support to end users on the
network as well as other general networking tasks.
- Have additional responsibilities that include: generate/provide status reports, provide network anomaly analysis, and
develop engineering redlines as needed to support network maintenance actions, engineering changes/upgrades, and
security vulnerabilities.
- Respond to Remedy Incident Tickets, working with customers to resolve network communication issues
- Provide Test/Event support as needed.
- Follow documented process and procedures and provide feedback to update as necessary.

This position is primarily Day Shift. May work off hours or on call as required.
This position can be filled at Schriever SFB, Colorado Springs, CO or Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL.
This position is expected to pay $146,100 - $162,500 annually; depending on location, experience, education, and any
certifications that are directly related to the position.
This position will be posted for a minimum of 3 days. If a candidate has not been selected at that time, it will continue to be posted until a suitable candidate is selected or the position is closed.

Requirements
Basic Requirements:
Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 16 years of general
experience; Associate’s degree and 14 years of general experience; Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of general
experience; Master’s degree and 10 years of general experience
- If this position requires travel selected candidate must be willing to provide proof of fully vaccinated (against COVID-19)
status? (the process of which must be completed prior to the anticipated start date)
- Must have at least 9 years of general network experience with any of the following: Palo Alto Firewalls, McAfee, Wildfire,
and FireEye IPS/IDS, Blue Coat Proxy and SSL Decryptor, LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, Multicast, OSPF, BGP routing protocols,
Solarwinds, and Cisco routers/switches
- Must have 1 year of experience working in a management or leadership role
- Must have a current DoD 8570 Level III Certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE or higher
- Must have, or obtain within 6 months, a current Palo Alto Networks (e.g. PCNSA or PCNSE) certification
- Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance
Desired Requirements:
- Have a Palo Alto Networks (e.g. PCNSA or PCNSE) or Cisco CCNA Certification or higher
- Be familiar with Remedy Action Request System
- Have experience with Cisco routers/switches, Palo Alto Firewalls, McAfee, Wildfire, and FireEye IPS/IDS, Blue Coat
Proxy and SSL Decryptor, LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, Multicast, OSPF, BGP routing protocols, Solarwinds
- Have experience with IT Services Configuration Management processes
