JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a talented Principal IT Analytics Engineer – Finance in the San Francisco Bay Area. Reporting to the Director of Data Platform & Analytics, that is responsible for supporting the Finance & HR function. The right candidate has strong domain knowledge of Go-To-Market and empathy, curiosity and desire to improve and constantly learn; has hand-on experience in all the capabilities of Snowflake, Tableau and SQL transformation tools like dbt, matillion. Proven track record of driving best practices and processes, with hands-on experience in creating visualizations, performance tuning, & role-based access.

This individual will: a) Design and build performant data visualizations primarily for Sales, and Marketing departments but can also extend for Finance, Services and Customer Success. They’ll be the data evangelist for Go-To-Market domain showing the power of data to Sales and Revenue teams, building data stories and make a major shift on how Enterprise decisions are made using data.

They will work independently and a) Partner with a global team of PMs, IT/ETL engineers (onsite and offshore); b) Synthesize business meetings into clear requirements, define KPI and metrics, prioritize requirements and create roadmaps with business and mentor the team to create best in class analytics.

In this role you will…

• Partner with Business stakeholders in Finance to understand their business problems and provide best-in-class analytics solutions by creating data-marts and reports
• Analyze the data, highlight and fix data quality issues.
• Hands-on analysis of business data using SQL or other tools, building tableau visualizations and communicating the analysis in an impactful manner to the business teams and executives.
• Understand the data from the source systems and be able to transform it into data-marts in Snowflake using complex SQL transformation
• Clearly communicate progress, dependencies, risks, issues, key metrics to business and IT leadership.
• Documentation of the requirements and data dictionary and lineage.
• Creating forums to train and build a tableau community across the enterprise.

You have what it takes if you have…

• Excellent Communication Skills
• Strong understanding of key metrics and data analysis delivered for finance and accounting
• 7-10 years of experience in data analysis using complex SQL, visualization tools like tableau
• Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts
• 2-3 years of Hands-on experience in using Snowflake or other cloud data warehouse coupled with SQL transformation tools like dbt or matillion
• Strong business acumen & demonstrated aptitude for analytics that drive action and business decisions.
• Strong troubleshooting skills - identifying data issues and anomalies during the analysis
• Experience working with business to build Spend Analytics, Revenue metrics, Financial planning and other core Enterprise Financial reports
• Knowledge of financial process like Month-end/Qtr-end close, financial planning, budgeting etc.
• Knowledge of Enterprise Business Applications – Oracle ERP/Fusion, Netsuite Financials, Salesforce etc.
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, business analytics.
