Senior Analyst Matter Planning Job at Shook, Hardy and Bacon
Analyzes and develops practice group, client, matter, and task-level datasets to create benchmarking data and model various staffing plans that lead to greater efficiency and profitability of clients and matters.
Works closely with partners, firm leadership and strategic pricing analysts in designing staffing plans for new and existing work and making recommendations that help drive financial improvements and optimize staffing resources appropriate for tasks being performed.
Collaborates with partners and strategic pricing analysts to proactively identify, evaluate and develop staffing recommendation for use in request for proposals, pitches and renewals.
Assists in adoption of technology and design of matter planning tools to prepare complex models and prepare staffing studies and projections through application of economic theory.
Assists in design of analytical tools and reporting systems to support development of matter planning strategies.
Understanding firm, practice group and client's business and financial objectives and initiatives and underlying cost-to-serve metrics to help develop appropriate staffing plans and pricing initiatives that drive greater efficiency and profitability.
Creatively approach staffing models and strategies while appropriately challenging assumptions and consistently providing high-quality work product.
Matter planning recommendations reflect sound business judgment, consideration of all relevant and available financial and non-financial data that promote the alignment of client and firm interests and preserves and protects the firm's assets.
Effectively communicates (orally and in writing) and maintains effective working relationships with team members, peers, firm leadership and internal / external clients.
Requirements:
Required: BA/BS in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Mathematics or related field; Preferred: Master's degree in business, accounting or related field; Experience Required: 5 years of relevant experience with complex financial analyses; law firm and/or litigation legal project management experience preferable.
