PURPOSE

Under the direction of the Senior Financial Reporting Manager the Senior Accountant assists with accounting for and maintaining accurate financial records for projects and capital assets. This role is the primary resource responsible for ensuring company transactions are captured and reported accurately and timely in the company’s financial statements in accordance with Snoqualmie Casino policies and Statutory Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain accurate financial records related to projects and fixed assets, including:
  • Receiving and coding invoices related to fixed asset purchases in accordance with the capitalization policy.
  • Ensuring accurate asset capitalization and classification in accordance with company policies.
  • Working with stakeholders to track the compilation of project costs. Monitoring and reporting on fixed asset project activity as compared to budget. Placing assets into service upon project completion.
  • Completing the monthly and annual close processes related to fixed assets including journal entries, adjustments, depreciation, and account reconciliations/roll forwards.
  • Conducting periodic reviews of fixed asset inventories across all departments.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Four (4) year Bachelor’s Degree-emphasis in Accounting or Finance
  • Three (3) years of accounting experience
  • One (1) year of fixed asset accounting experience
  • General Ledger accounting experience
  • Automated accounting experience
  • Experience with:
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Inventory
  • General Ledger
  • Fixed assets
  • Banking transactions
  • Reconciliations
  • Capital expenditure processing
  • Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Any combination of education and experience that clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties of the position.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven working knowledge of computers (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Proven excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • 10-key by touch

PREFERRED

Education and Experience:

  • Gaming or Hospitality accounting experience
  • Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains software experience
  • Snoqualmie Casino Career Development Track Series completion

Snoqualmie Casino exercises Snoqualmie Tribal Member/Native American preference in hiring, in compliance with the Snoqualmie Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO). You must obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Snoqualmie Gaming Commission. Pre-employment drug testing is required for all positions.
