Second Rodeo Brewing Job Description: Utility (Barback/Busser/Utility)

DESCRIPTION:

Utility team members are essential to Second Rodeo Brewing’s overall guest service experience. The primary role is to provide back up and support to the Bar, Cocktails and Kitchen staff during busy shifts. Utility staff report to the manager on duty and team up with the Kitchen crew each shift to ensure Second Rodeo is well maintained.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain trash cans inside and out by emptying them when necessary throughout the shift.

• Maintain kitchen cleanliness during busy shifts by sweeping and mopping the floors along with emptying trash cans as necessary.

• Maintain restroom cleanliness.. Ensure that paper towels, trash cans, and toilet paper are maintained throughout the shift.

• Run ice to all areas as needed.

• Maintain the cleanliness by picking up trash and keeping the floors clean in the restroom and main dining areas.

• Support the look of the space by arranging and placing tables and chairs back in their proper spots throughout the shift.

• Clean and organize the break area throughout the shift.

• Clean spills and empty/remove dog bowls as necessary.

• Watch out for spills during busy times, and help maintain dry floors and wet floors signs as necessary

• Check-in with managers throughout the shift and ask where you might be able to help.

• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Work experience in a restaurant/bar will be considered a plus

• Rubber-soled closed-toed shoes required

• Strong ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

• Must be available to work high volume times: days & evenings Fri, Saturday & Sunday

• Positive attitude and excellent communication/listening skills

• Self-motivated to identify areas that need cleaning and/or fixing

• Works well under direction of others

• Must have reliable transportation

• Must be eligible to work in the United States

OTHER THINGS TO KNOW

• Second Rodeo does not permit any employee to consume alcohol at any Brain Storm Shelter Restaurant location, whether on- or off-duty.

• All employees are required to follow all local and state laws regarding the sale & service of alcohol.

• Employees are expected to wash their hands frequently during shifts and after all breaks.

• All employees must practice good personal hygiene to prevent foodborne illnesses & create a clean working environment

• Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing 45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion. Position requires working a full shift on your feet.

• Position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions

• Position may require work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment as well as operation of phones, computers and other office equipment.
