The Johnson County Park and Recreation District is hiring for Seasonal Park Workers at multiple park locations throughout the county. The Seasonal Park Worker is an entry level position that supports the Park Operations staff in a wide variety of daily operations related to the upkeep and maintenance of park grounds, playgrounds, trails, buildings, equipment, and natural areas within our 10,000 acres of Johnson County’s parks system.
Responsibilities include mowing, trimming, cleaning park facilities, landscape planting and maintenance, sanitation collection and disposal, etc. Seasonal Park Workers may operate equipment and trucks as trained, assigned, and licensed.
This position provides an opportunity to interact with and learn alongside skilled staff in facility maintenance, horticulture, construction, forestry, natural resource management and other careers in unique green industry fields and skilled trades work.
This seasonal position is available from March – October but is also available for students seeking a summer work opportunity, as well as other times available out of school. Total hours for this position will be less than 1500.
Normal Work Hours:
7:00am - 3:30pm M-F, some weekends and holidays required
Reports to Kill Creek Park
Qualifications
Minimum age 16. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record verified through a background check.
