We are looking for a qualified School Nurse to provide students with basic health services throughout the school day. The School nurse will also manage students who have chronic health conditions and students with disabilities. This includes giving them medication as needed and working with parents and teachers to create and enforce care plans.

When necessary, the School Nurse will provide onsite assessments of children's needs and relay the information to the appropriate stakeholders. The School Nurse will track each child’s physical development and medical records while they are enrolled. Lastly, the School Nurse will provide training to the center’s staff on things such as sanitary diaper changing and proper hand washing procedures and will monitor the facilities' health issues and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hearing, vision and other health screenings
  • Treat students as needed
  • Develop care plans for students with ongoing conditions
  • Consult with teachers, school administrators and other school staff regarding student care
  • Administer medication
  • Monitor student immunization records
  • Educate students and staff on health procedures
  • Help students who have feeding disabilities
  • Provide height, weight, hemoglobin, vision and hearing screenings to enrolled families
  • Complete written reports of assessments with children
  • Assist in monitoring medication logs, and child medication on- site
  • Conduct health related workshops with families
  • Consult with families enrolled in program on health related topics
  • Conduct Postpartum checks

Qualifications

  • Proven nursing experience
  • Familiarity with professional and technical emerging knowledge
  • Problem solving skills and ability to multi-task
  • Compassionate with good communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Certified Nursing Assistant certification

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
