- Shall hold a Master’s Degree in Library Science or Educational Technology
- A master’s degree from a program accredited by the American Library Association or a master’s level program in library and information studies is preferred
- Shall have knowledge of, experience in and training for advanced credits for work experience in curriculum or technology.
- Possess a valid teacher certificate and meet the elements of a high qualified teacher.
- Prior teaching experience preferred
- To ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information.
- To empower students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers and ethical users of information
- To instill a love of learning in all students and ensure equitable access to information
- Maintain a diverse and inclusive library collection (digital and print)
- Create and maintain the school library, creating a teaching and learning environment that is inviting, flexible, and conducive to student learning
- Prepare and administer the school library program budget to support program goals
- Establish processes and procedures for selection, circulation and resource sharing to assure appropriate media and text resources for students and staff
- Supervising support staff, which may include educational assistants and volunteers
- To collaborate with classroom teachers and specialist to design and implement lessons and units of instruction, and assess students’ learning and instructional effectiveness
- To provide leadership and expertise necessary to ensure that the school library program is aligned with the mission, goals and objectives of the school.
- Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
- Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
- Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling.
- Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
- Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work; those activities where detailed or import spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
- Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- The worker is subject to environmental conditions.
- The worker should provide consistent and reliable attendance.
