Champlain Valley School District2022-2023District Wide PostingLicensed PositionSchool Based Social Worker, 1.00 FTE, 2022-23 School Year Contract Location: CVU High SchoolChamplain Valley Union High School is seeking a School Based Social Worker to join our school starting January 2, 2023.The School Social Worker at CVU High School works collaboratively with special educators and program assistants in an alternative classroom that serves students on IEP plans who often struggle with social emotional skills. The social worker acts as a link between home, school, and community in order to promote and support students' overall school and social success. In addition to individual and small group work with students, the social worker collaborates closely with the alternative classroom teaching team to embed Social Emotional Learning skills into the curriculum. Outside of the classroom, the social worker provides weekly individual therapeutic interventions and supports to a small caseload of students.

Responsibilities: Provide therapeutic interventions and supports for students experiencing significant emotional/behavioral/environmental challengesProvide supportive counseling and collateral contact to students and families in order to facilitate mental health and social emotional success and healingProvide crisis prevention and interventionEducate/Consult with school staff about mental health issues, poverty, and equity Requirements: Master's Degree in a mental health discipline.Experience working with youth with emotional/behavioral challenges.Structure: Full time (Monday-Friday)Interested candidates should submit materials to SchoolSpring.
