School Age Child Care Coordinator
The Sewickley Valley YMCA is seeking a full-time coordinator for the Childcare Department, focusing on School Age Childcare. This person will also be responsible assisting, addressing, monitoring & dealing with all childcare staff & students in the Moon Area School District & the Quaker Valley School District, to be sure they are following all YMCA, DHS and S.T.A.R.S. rules and regulations.
Key responsibilities; include leading, implementing, and fulfilling all DHS regulations and Keystone S.T.A.R.S. standards at your center and all after school centers within the department. The daily running of a center within the Moon and or Quaker Valley School Districts. This person will also be responsible for working & supporting staff with behavior plans, problems within any centers, creating a weekly schedule for staff at all centers, maintaining wait lists, completing enrollment & paperwork for any new students, working preschool summer camp, and curriculum focusing on after-school programming.
Qualifications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. This includes phone, computer, email and face to face conversations.
  • Must have the ability to work with people in the community & school districts, staff within the childcare department, members, parents, and children.
  • Must have computer skills.
  • Must meet Pennsylvania State Requirements for a Site Director
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, special education, elementary education, or the human services field.
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 1 year of experience working with children.
  • An associate degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 2 years of experience with children.
  • An associate degree in an accredited college or university, including 30 hours of early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 3 years of experience with children.
Days and Times Needed
Monday-Friday, 10:30am-6:30pm, hours will vary as needed. This includes; covering before school, holidays, going to assist another center or meeting any needs of the department.
You will also go on a rotation cycle for Building Supervisors who are responsible for closing the Y, nightly.
Salary
$18.00-20.00/hour, depending on experience.

All positions require the ability to obtain PA State Police, PA Child Abuse History, FBI Fingerprint and National Sex Offenders Registry Clearances. If you do not have current clearances the Y will help you obtain them.
