About The Job
Sandy Spring Bank is currently recruiting for a SCC Digital Relationship Banker. Position is a centrally located sales role designed to remotely advise retail and small business clients and prospects. Responsible for developing new and existing retail and small business client relationships. Responsible to achieve and exceed individual production goals to include but not limited to deposit, loan, fee and referral goals, Success will be derived from the quality of inbound request response and outbound sales activities. Participates in business events and networking opportunities. Effectively works with key representatives from all areas of the company to deliver on client, operational, security, and compliance needs. Communicates and supports the mission of the company. Completes other duties as assigned.
Areas of focus:
1. Takes ownership of individual production goals for deposits, loans, fee income, and other goals assigned. Utilizes standard sales techniques such as profiling, outside business development calls, cold calling, networking and teleconsulting to generate business. Focus on conducting proactive outbound sales activities to acquire and deepen retail and small business relationships.
2. Works with Marketing, DAOT, internal data analytic and other divisions to develop lending and deposit opportunities. Responsible for handling basic Web 2 Leads referrals provided by Marketing.
3. Responds and fulfills all inbound inquiries and requests for new products and services received through all digital channels including telephone, email, chat and online applications.
4. Understands the credit sales process and maintains excellent communication skills, including but not limited to, loan product knowledge, credit basics, ability to negotiate rates and loan terms, and proficiency with CX360+ (Salesforce and nCino).
5. Has a complete understanding of all products sold in the retail branch office and has familiarity with products sold by other business lines. Maintains knowledge of credit standards, and loan processing procedures for retail and small business loans.
6. Initiates business development calls to business prospects with the objective of developing new business and cross-sell opportunities through consultative needs-based selling. Participates in business events and networking groups focusing on developing new business relationships and lead sources.
7. Creates new retail and business client relationships and works to cross-sell additional products and services to existing clients. These relationships should include cross-selling the full-suite of available products and services to include DDA accounts, loan products, treasury management, insurance, and retirement/wealth planning. Maintains contact with client throughout the approval and settlement process to ensure client satisfaction. Troubleshoots problems or issues with internal partners. Complies with all relevant regulatory requirements.
8. Follows established audit, security and compliance guidelines to protect company assets, and clients from harm or loss. Maintains familiarity with procedures and policies that are subject to audit to ensure audit scores are at acceptable levels.
9. Works as a CSC representative at a CSC rep level I when required to support increased call volumes. Responsible for sales queues to include deposit and loans.
Required Skills:
1. Work requires broad professional level of knowledge and expertise in business banking and relationship sales. Position requires a minimum of two years of experience in a business development, banking or call center environment. A BA in business, finance, or related subject is strongly preferred.
- Must have excellent speaking ability and be able to effectively and professionally read and write in English to express ideas. Strong communication skills are required to effectively supervise and guide others.
- Ability to effectively handle sales opportunities through high-volume remote channels including telephone, email, virtual meetings, chat and in-person interactions.
- Ability to work independently while producing expected sales results in a fast paced call center environment. Ideal candidate must be a results drive top producer who is easily adaptable, self-motivated, open minded, flexible and a team player.
5. Ability to make productive business development calls is required. Contacts involve a variety of levels and require advanced interpersonal skills to effectively deal with all types of people.
6. Intermediate personal computer skills are required using standard windows-based software and web-based applications including Salesforce.
7. Advanced problem solving skills are required. Problems are technically or administratively complex and require the collection, interpretation, and analysis of data from diverse sources.
SPECIFIC PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work requires reasonable mobility in and around the work area. Ability to use standard computer and phone systems is required

Normal office environment where there is almost no discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise, or other disagreeable elements.
Work includes little or no potential exposure to hazardous conditions.
Must be able to travel to remote company and/or client locations.
