Role: Sales Representative, Southeast Region

Location: Florida, preferably Palm Beach, Wellington or Ocala

Gillian Valentine is an approachable luxury lifestyle brand focusing on sleepwear and loungewear with a curation of home-goods and décor and apothecary. The signature Gillian Valentine pieces feature prints from artists spanning the globe. The brand uses organic cotton made in the United States, milled in Indiana and produced locally in Charlottesville and Gordonsville, Virginia.

Our team is composed of experienced business leaders and consultants supported by young professionals from The University of Virginia and local Virginia high schools who make products, manage our marketing, and take an active role in growing our customer base. In addition, we have a team of seamstresses in Ohio and Texas that make our sleepwear.

Gillian Valentine’s philanthropic arm focuses on a recycling program with Goodwill International to use remnant fabric scraps as insulation material.

Job Description:
As part of expanding our retail presence in Florida, we are looking for a Sales Representative that is focused on three areas; pop-up and trunk show facilitation, sales and marketing activities and identification of new pop-ups and trunk shows or markets in the area.

This role is primarily in-person sales of our growing product line. A strong attention to detail, entrepreneurial skills, independence and an interest in the lifestyle brand are required.

This role reports directly to the President of the company.

Sales Expectations:
Selling products or services to customers, and representing the brand. This can include identifying, facilitating and creating materials and support around pop-ups and trunk shows across the Southeast, managing orders, identifying new target markets and maintaining customer relationships.

  • Being present at onsite at pop-ups and trunk shows 10-12 days a month;
  • Reaching out to customers through a variety of channels, such as email, phone, text, and social media;
  • Submitting and processing orders to ensure customers receive the products or services they request on time;
  • Participating in company meetings with the Director of Operations, President of GV and GV Business Consultant. This usually involves providing a recap of recent results and accomplishments and identifying areas of needs or problems

Policy & Procedures

  • Create, update and disseminate all policies and procedures as it relates to sales activities;
  • Submit applications for pop-ups and trunk shows along with handle close out of each event;
  • Consistently review and identify any critical areas that require additional guidelines;
  • Provide prompt resolutions for sales inquiries;
  • Ensure the proper use of all digital tools as it relates to retail operations

Team Building

  • Conduct quarterly sales meetings with the GV team on best practices or lessons learned;
  • Empower others by providing autonomy and encouraging self-expression, valuing and amplifying each person’s uniqueness;

Qualifications:

  • An individual who engages with people well;
  • We are seeking someone who describes themselves as “friendly and outgoing”;
  • A can-do-attitude is critical for this role;
  • We are seeking an individual that takes pride in their work product, works well in a team and is willing take on new challenges;
  • An inherent sense of project management and program management skills;
  • Strong understanding of basic office tools like Google Docs, Team Sharing Platforms, Inventory Management and Word/Powerpoint;
  • Someone who supports our core values of sustainability and collaboration;
  • Familiarity and/or knowledge of the AA Horse Show circuit in Florida

Education: College degree, preferred

Hours: Dependent on pop-up schedule but no more than 40 hours a week

Travel: Pop-ups across Florida for two weeks of every month, travel expenses are paid for by GV

Salary: Competitive – plus a competitive incentive structure

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
