Sales Representative – Job Description

Cardin Forest Products is a family owned hardwood sawmill and kiln drying operation located in South Pittsburg, Tennessee. We are currently seeking a candidate to fill an open position with our sales team as a sales representative.

Scope of the Position:

This position can be either on site or remote. The chosen candidate will report to the Sales Manager and Ownership.

Position Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the hardwood industry in a sales position
• Professional, knowledgeable, positive and energetic attitude
• Have experience and contacts in the hardwood export market
• Delivers superior customer service
• Effective listening, communication (verbal and written), and negotiating skills
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Demonstrated understanding and application of effective selling strategies and techniques
• Demonstrated success in growing sales or generating leads
• Manages time effectively and adapts quickly to changing priorities
• Team player who works productively with wide range of people
• Problem-solving and analytical ability
• Technical expertise and knowledge of company products
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Duties will include, but not be limited to the following:

• Work with sales team to provide service by taking telephone or in person orders and responding to customer requests.
• Handle order issues as they arise from existing customers
• Follow company policies and procedures
