The hourly rate for this position at Scotts/Hawthorne will generally fall between $23.00-25.00. Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.
We are looking for a Sales Merchandising Lead to join our Field Sales team.
Sales Merchandising Lead’s are responsible for developing world class relationships with major retailer customers, primarily focusing on Walmart. Sales Merchandising Lead’s execute key initiatives in a set number of stores within a geographic region. This includes leadership of merchandising directives and re-sets, establishing a positive rapport with store personnel and customers, and relaying information to the District Manager regarding sales opportunities.
What you’ll do in this role:
- Merchandise products inside and outside stores, ensuring products are stocked and presentable at all times
- Provide customers with product knowledge on Scotts brands
- Utilize selling tactics by analyzing and preparing key metrics to educate our retail partners on business opportunities
- Identify opportunities for solution selling and incremental space
- Implement retail sales plans and other creative marketing tools and events
- Assist retailers in the proper merchandising of Scotts’ product lines including the use of point-of- purchase materials to meet the account’s needs
- Communicate proactively with key stakeholders
- Support key initiatives through the Scotts sales team by prioritizing critical events and shifting priorities as needed to assist other team members
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Minimum one year of prior field sales, account or retail management experience
- Interpersonal sales and technology skills
- Problem solving and a service oriented attitude
- Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation to travel between retail locations
- Ability to work evenings and weekends with occasional overnight travel during in-season periods
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 45 pounds, climb an 8-12 foot ladder and be exposed to weather elements (e.g. heat, cold, wind, rain)
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
