Normal Work Location: KYOCERA Hardcoating Technologies Cuyahoga Falls / Remote after Training

Normal Working Hours: 8:00AM – 5:00PM / Monday – Friday / As Needed

Position Summary

The position is responsible for market prospecting, account opportunity qualification, opening new accounts, growing accounts to a revenue that is classified as ongoing. Management of sales growth activities, account selection and account service. Incumbent must relate with customers using strong logic driven approach. The position supports a lean safe environment; while focusing on continuous improvement, quality and teamwork through out the company.


Essential Job Functions

  • Travel to meet customer needs and influence customers by determining the best products and application of products to satisfy the customer’s needs.
  • Coordinate the activities between sales, customer service, manufacturing, and other associates as needed.
  • Handle customer calls as needed.
  • Inform customer of delivery information as needed.
  • Create and maintain customer quotes.
  • Process orders received via fax, email or personally from customer.
  • Enter customer complaints and concerns into unipoint.
  • Establish rapport with potential customers.
  • Resolve customer dissatisfactions by directing the receipt, investigation, evaluation, and settling of complaints and claims; follow up with customers to resolve demanding situations.
  • Update customers by providing them with information regarding services.
  • Establish new customer accounts and update records of same.
  • Report on a monthly basis all field activities including business development, ongoing testing opportunities, results of completed testing opportunities, end user training, competitive data and other pertinent information regarding coating applications.
  • Act as liaison for internal and external communications with customers. Manage ongoing conference calls and ensure a positive relationship with assigned accounts.
  • Perform customer service as well as backup duties as required.
  • Monitor shipment schedule for customers.
  • Understand and adhere to the Quality Management and Safety and Environmental Systems.
  • Assist with collection activities.

Marginal / Less Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of activities, industry trends, market trends, competitor trends impacting the assigned territory.
  • Host visiting customers and potential customers, sales engineers, and sales representatives.

Educational Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Other Qualifications Desired

Training & Experience

  • One to three years’ experience in Business-to-Business sales required.
  • ERP systems, Quality/continuous improvement initiatives, and manufacturing safety practices.
  • Six months of sales/customer service experience in managing accounts and diverse services.
  • Working expert knowledge of and experience with personal computers, specifically operating within a Windows based environment or other applicable software applications such as ERP and Unipoint systems.
  • Expert with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word (strong ability to create presentations and proposals efficiently).
  • Broad conceptual judgment, initiative, and ability to deal with complex customer issues.
  • Advanced research skills.
  • Passion for continuous improvement.
  • Strong logic-based problem-solving skills.
  • Detail oriented.

License Required: Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet requirements set by KHTL insurance carrier.

Working Conditions: Normal office environment utilizing personal computer, phone and related office equipment. May sit or stand as needed. Constant use of upper extremities. Occasional reaching above shoulder height, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Daily visits to manufacturing facilities with exposure to hazards of moving equipment and automated machinery. Infrequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
