Clariant is a leading supplier of Ethylene catalysts used in chemical and environmental Industries. Our focus on research and development enables us to be a leading company in the field of Ethylene technologies. We are currently looking to add a Sales Manager to our global Ethylene sales team that will be focused on maintaining current accounts and penetrating new market accounts for Clariant.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for sales and the development of new customers of Ethylene in the Americas markets focusing on environmental and chemical industries
- Ongoing management and development of customer accounts and relationships
- You will develop relationships at all levels within the customers’ organization (with research and technology experts, purchasing managers, business managers, and senior management)
- Responsible for performing routine sales functions such as site visits, preparation and timely submission of technical and commercial proposals, phone and on-site technical service when requested, and practicing a systematic selling process including call reports, sales call planning, sales forecasting, etc.
- You will track trends of the market; gather intelligence concerning customers and competitor
- Manage and maintain sales volume, product mix and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators and competitors
- You will establish and adjust selling prices and minimum margin requirements (Minimum Margin Tool) by monitoring costs, supply and demand, and competition
- Develop industry contact through establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies
- You will work closely with your mentor to build on strengths and identify areas for improvement
- Responsible for maintaining technical knowledge though professional publications, customer interaction and educational workshops
- Role model the Clariant values and align personal business behaviors to the values
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, although degrees in related fields with appropriate experience will also be considered
- Up to Five (5) years technical sales experience in the chemical industry; preferably focused in catalyst sales
- Candidates who have knowledge of catalytic processes, process engineering, and/or technical service experience and have an aptitude and desire to make a career change to sales will also be considered
- You must also have strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
- Seeking a well organized contributor that holds excellent overall computer skills (SAP knowledge is preferred but not required.)
- Must have excellent relationship building skills and enjoy service-oriented type of work while being also results driven
- You should have the ability and willingness to travel to both domestic and foreign locations
