Reports to Executive VP

The Safety Manager is charged with ensuring company-wide safety protocols are developed, maintained, and enforced. This position serves as mentor and provide support for all staff as it relates to safety.

Safety

• Be an advocate for Henning?s safety culture, always doing the right thing, and promote safety of those around you
• Lead by example in the office and on jobsite by utilizing proper personal protective equipment and following all safety regulations
• Develop and ensure Project Safety Plans are being utilized on all jobsites
• Conduct training for project employees and consult with project supervisors to develop safe work plans for all project phases and tasks

Building Relationships

• Work closely with all involved parties on projects to identify and manage safety risks
• Oversee and ensure the safety and training of employees, subcontractors, and general public
• Coordinate with OSHA and be a primary point of contact

Focus on End Goals

• Lead by example and coach team on Henning Core Values
• Mentor and support field teams on the planning of more complex safety aspects of the project construction including critical lifts, hazardous material handling, trenching, electrical, etc
• Review and update safety manual on a regular basis, communicating changes with all employees
• Enforce company and project specific safety and health programs as well as federal, state, and local safety standards
• Maintain current safety records including safety performance

Travel Expectations

• Frequent overnight travel expected by plane or car

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently in an office environment, and 30 to 50 pounds of force occasionally when working in field environment
• Frequent activities of office environment include sitting, standing, walking, typing and other computer work, using telephone and other standard office equipment
• Occasional activities of office environment include balancing, bending/stooping, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion
