Safety Basis Analyst Job at GEM Technologies Inc.
GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking a Safety Basis Analyst to join our team. This position is part-time and will support the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM. This role is anticipated to be short-term (4 months) with possibility of extension.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science and 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Possess DSA knowledge to perform the QEVs including knowledge of 10CFR830, DOE-STD-3009 and other orders and standards.
Clearance Level Required:
Uncleared - Must be able to obtain and maintain a Clearance

Overview:
- Performs nuclear and non-nuclear risk and hazard analyses to ensure safe operation of nuclear and/or non-nuclear facilities.
- Specific duties may include, but are not necessarily limited to; hazard identification, hazard analysis, facility hazard categorization, accident analysis, selection of controls, and development of associated safety basis documents including un-reviewed safety question determinations, documented safety analysis, technical safety requirements, safety assessment documents, facility safety plans, and facility safety analysis.
Clearance & Citizenship Requirement:
- To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
- Due to the federal nature of the work, a U.S. Citizenship is required.
Desired Skills:
- DOE-Qualified Unreviewed Safety Questions Evaluator certification, preferred.
