ABOUT THE POSITION: The Safety Administrator ensures the organization complies with all current safety regulations and that all employees are aware of and prepared to follow required safety procedures. In this role, you will implement, manage, and monitor safety programs, policies, and procedures that meet OSHA and other applicable requirements. You’ll evaluate the organization’s procedures, facilities, and equipment by conducting inspections to identify unsafe conditions and to implement safeguards and solutions. Additionally, you may have additional accountability for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, resource conservation, or other safety-related activities.
Safety First :
- Lead by example in Safety. Follow and enforce all applicable procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and uphold our standards for quality. Enforce safety, sanitation and “5S” regulations. Follow all applicable standards of work.
- Develop, implement and enforce safety procedures and protocols. Update training.
- Perform safety inspections ensuring compliance with OSHA, ANSI, and NFPA safety standards. Investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions. Inspect materials, products and equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
- Work with contractors, vendors, and technicians as necessary to keep the plant running safely. Coordinate and facilitate departmental repairs or requests.
- Assist in developing and achieving department goals and budget. Ensure that all safety records are maintained and available when needed.
- Ensure that all safety related items are successfully and professionally communicated to coworkers, either verbally or in writing. Gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
- Contribute as an active team member on various cross-functional teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ideal candidate has 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience in an SQF-certified facility: Preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety: Preferred
- Safety expertise: Knowledge of federal, state and local safety regulations, protocols, and/or procedures;
certified in first aid / CPR/ AED (Training provided)
- Technical skills: Basic Microsoft Office Suite; Intermediate use of iPads; able to use production apps & software; able to concept, film and edit internal training videos.
- Good-humored, self-motivated, eager to help others. Keen eye for unsafe behaviors and conditions, and passion for protecting those around you.
