Job Summary

Located in Reticulated Vitreous Carbon (RVC) department. Under minimal supervision, this works with arbor/pneumatic press, tools/dies for forming/shaping, Computer Numerical Controls (CNC’s), comparators, and other equipment associated with RVC processing. Requires use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, safety shoes and dust mask.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Operate CNC Machines
Limited use of manual presses using applicable specifications
Review all documentation associated with RVC production for accuracy
Enter work order information into JD Edwards and the Data Acquisition Recording System (DARS)
Cut parts from RVC foam and follow proper loading procedures for putting material onto trays
Replenish floor stock (raw material/supplies) on a timely basis
Work with engineers to update procedures / specifications
Participate in improvement projects as applicable
Perform all Preventive Maintenance (PM) and 5S activities and sign off
Perform cycle counts as per plan
Complete all required training on time

Expected Areas of Competence
- Knowledge and compliance to all quality and operational specification outlined for the RVC production area.
- Must have the ability to work in a manufacturing environment while maintaining confidentiality.
- Demonstrates the ability to work in a team environment by communicating effectively, being alert, helping others, and participating in problem solving and process improvement activities across all shifts.
- Knowledgeable of 5S procedures and execution.
- Working knowledge of GMPs and line clearance.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to operate CNC milling machines, manual presses, hand-held measuring devices, and basic computer skills.
- Must be compliant to all safety, ISO, and FDA requirements of the RVC area.
- Good hand/eye coordination and have the ability to perform intricate detailed work on a repetitive basis.
- Demonstrates proficiency with applicable computer software programs, i.e. Factory Net, Microsoft applications, DARS, JDE, etc.
Education/Experience Requirements
§ High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
§ Previous production experience or experience with good manufacturing practices preferred.
§ 6 months to 1 year experience in the chemical vapor deposition department or combined RVC and CVD experience is required
§ 6 Months to 1 years of experience with CNC or conventional machining skills desired.
§ Ability to communicate and write in English.
§ Must be able to work a variety of different shifts including weekends.
