JOB SUMMARY

At Houston Methodist, the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Senior Developer position is responsible for identifying, defining and implementing RPA design principles and standards in the development and execution of Robotic Process Automations. Leads RPA design authority to define and monitor process automations. The RPA Senior Developer leverages expertise with RPA design patterns and practices, queue management, while participating in the design and delivery of processes for the RPA program. Ensures that operational standards and policies are followed. Partners and guides implementation partners and internal staff on RPA software development and process automation activities. The RPA Senior Developer has overall technical responsibility for the program’s RPA implementation, using WorkFusion and Agile methodologies. Identifies and communicates risks associated with process automation candidates and designs to RPA Lead. Serves as active developer on assigned projects. Utilizes advanced level SQL and reverse engineering skills to deliver RPA solutions.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

PEOPLE - 25%

  • Delivers process automation to the enterprise. (EF)
  • Provides ticket resolution support during hypercare and stabilization phase. (EF)
  • Ensures requirements for development, testing and production are clearly communicated to project teams. (EF)
  • Collaborates with RPA vendor and implementation partners on RPA software deployments and process automation activities. (EF)

SERVICE - 20%

  • Implements automated solutions in accordance with standards and program methodology. (EF)
  • Co-authors and maintains solution design documentation. (EF)
  • Supports release of automation processes to production. (EF)
  • Serves as RPA subject matter expert (SME) to infrastructure team. (EF)

QUALITY/SAFETY - 30%

  • Identifies and communicates risks associated with process automation cases to appropriate stakeholders. (EF)
  • Analyzes and resolves automation software issues as needed. (EF)
  • Leads the design and implementation of assigned projects. (EF)
  • Coordinates progress across projects working in conjunction with project-specific leads. (EF)

FINANCE - 10%

  • Develops efficient, well-structured and scalable automation solutions. (EF)
  • Manages project time effectively to meet established and committed deadlines. (EF)

GROWTH/INNOVATION - 15%

  • Pursues knowledge of new RPA technologies and methodologies that improve productivity, workflow, production, efficiency, and effectiveness. Shares learnings with team. (EF).

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

o Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

o Seven years Java enterprise development and relational database systems required (SQL/Server preferred) to include three years RPA implementation experience and 18 months architecting WorkFusion solutions such as Linux

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED
o Java and WorkFusion certificates preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
o Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through on-going skills, competency assessments, and performance evaluations
o Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security
o Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles
o Ability to think analytically with strong problem-solving skills.
o Ability to understand business logic and processes.
o Advanced level SQL skills, with reverse engineering preferred.
o Demonstrated strong leadership, partnership and communication skills.
o Ability to coordinate with all levels of organization to ensure RPA design and technical solutions meet business needs.
o Ability to resolve connectivity issues across various application platforms, including connecting disparate systems for the first time.
o Ability to gather and interpret relevant data and information.
o Ability to organize workload and delegate for effective implementation of multiple concurrent projects.
o Motivated self-starter with initiative.
o Experience with software modeling tools (MS Visio, etc.) preferred
o Healthcare industry experience preferred
