Job Summary:
A clinical position responsible for providing emergent and urgent care to patients throughout the ski season, including assessment, treatment, care planning and medical care evaluation. Provides patient care to patients coming off of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort as well as the broader Teton Village area based on practice guidelines, standards of care and federal/state laws and regulations.

Minimum Work Experience:
Required Minimum of 2 years experience in a clinical setting. Basic computer skills required.
Preferred 2 years of Emergency Department experience.
Required Licenses: Current RN license with the authority to practice in the State of Wyoming. BLS and ACLS required at the time of hire. TNCC certification required before providing patient care.
Functional Demands:
Working Conditions- Clinic environment including medical exam/treatment rooms. Fast-paced, high stress and noisy at times. Frequent interruptions irregular hours, meals and breaks. Must be on-site at the SJH campus or other facilities to fulfill the responsibilities of this role.
Physical Requirements- Standing for extended periods of time, walking, bending, squatting and manipulating equipment and patients. Occasional need to lift patients during transferring and/or turning patients, with/without assistance. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Essential Functions:
1. Patient Care
- Provides patient care based on practice guidelines, standards of care and federal/state laws and regulations. Assesses disease conditions using; observational, interviewing, interpretation and critical thinking skills in a developmentally appropriate manner.
- Ensures patient consent for care, as well as strict patient confidentiality. Obtains and documents details regarding chief complaint, medicine reconciliation, health/surgical history, allergies, health risk factors and vital signs. Assesses current health condition using; observational, interviewing, interpretation and critical thinking skills.
- Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administers prescribed medications and monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response.
- Collaborates with EMS, Emergency Department, Ski Patrol, community resources, providers and staff as needed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensures continuity of care and if applicable, appropriately transfers patients to the hospital or higher level of care following St. John's Health hand-off guidelines.
- Triages patients by assessing appropriate acuity level per classification systems. Documents patient assessment and intervention data using established medical record forms/automated systems and documentation practices.
- Ensures patient flow throughout the clinic.
- Maintains communication with provider; relaying new/updated information as necessary and appropriate.
- Responds appropriately in management of trauma, Code Blue, Disaster Preparedness following ACLS/TNCC guidelines.
