This position oversees the operation, organization, and flow of recipients through the Inpatient unit; including but not limited to: delegating nursing assignments, overseeing admissions, transfers and discharges. Demonstrate knowledge of Crisis Intervention and can de-escalate potentially aggressive situations. Assists with training and orientation of new staff, and oversee assigned duties of staff and documentation to meet JCAHO and OMFL standards.

We are hiring a Nurse Supervisor for our COE unit. This position oversees the operation, organization, and flow of recipients through the Inpatient unit; including but not limited to: delegating nursing assignments, overseeing admissions, transfers and discharges. Demonstrate knowledge of Crisis Intervention and can de-escalate potentially aggressive situations. Assists with training and orientation of new staff, and oversee assigned duties of staff and documentation to meet JCAHO and OMFL standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assigned to the court ordered evaluation (COE) unit and demonstrates a fundamental understanding of COE and court ordered treatment (COT) processes in alignment with A.R.S. Title 36.
- Provides leadership for the shift assigned to create and maintain a safe and therapeutic milieu. Ensures all RN and LPN responsibilities are met and abide by company policy. Performs all essential functions of a Registered Nurse as needed.
- Assists Nurse Manager and/or Director of Nursing with the implementation of new policies/procedures and collection of necessary data for reporting (Infection Control, incidents/Medication Errors, Injuries, and Staffing issues). Actively assesses work area for non-compliance issues, makes corrections as appropriate, and notifies Nurse Manager and/or Director of Nursing of identified concerns.
- Oversees the management, delivery, and coordination of nursing care on the inpatient unit. Responsible for the assessment, planning, provision, and evaluation of patient care and nursing services. Collaborates with other members of the Multidisciplinary team to keep a smooth flow of admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Ensures coverage for an RN/LPN call-offs for the oncoming shift. Reports lack of coverage to Nurse Manager. Ensures all Nursing staff on their shift remain in compliance with required trainings.
- Utilizes de-escalation procedures and theories to assist in providing a safe milieu. Utilizes skills effectively to describe and demonstrate roles and responsibilities relative to safety. Review seclusion/restraint packet and assist with their corrections.
- Completes reviews and audits of staff documentation to determine compliance with JCHAO and OMFL standards.
- Work schedule to include regular 12-hour shifts with an additional 4 hours for administrative and leadership related activities.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Direct Reporting:
- Supervises staff on the inpatient unit.
- Supervisory Functions:
- Assists with employment actions including selection, onboarding, training, and coaching of nursing staff.
- Provides ongoing performance evaluations and notes each evaluation on supervisory discussion log.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program (BSN or higher)
- 4 or more years of psychiatric, behavioral health, or relevant nursing experience, particularly providing behavioral health services to adults over the age of 65, individuals with substance abuse, individuals who are seriously mentally ill, individuals who have co-occurring disorder, and/or individuals who may be victims or perpetrators of domestic violence.
- 1-2 years of leadership experience
- Unrestricted license as Registered Nurse through the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
- Demonstrated high-level performer with ability to lead processes and projects
- Demonstrated proficiency: Microsoft Office Software, Electronic Health Records, Internet Browsers and Searches
- Ability to demonstrate awareness and respect for cultural, lifestyle, age, gender, and sexual orientation diversities of clients and staff; apply knowledge of age, gender, and multi-cultural counseling skills.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 2 additional yeas of crisis psychiatric nursing experience
- Familiarity with Court Ordered Treatment process.
- 1 year experience working in court ordered evaluation (COE) and court ordered treatment (COT) setting
- Certified training (CPR First Aid, therapeutic options, etc.)
- Spanish language proficiency
