Castle Rock Medical Center is looking for a part-time RN or LPN to join the team.
Summary of Job:
Works in close harmony with physicians, PAs, receptionists, laboratory and x-ray technicians. Carries out physicians’ orders while exhibiting initiative and sound judgment in the absence of specific physicians’ orders. Must be able to anticipate physicians’ needs and maintain a steady and timely flow of patients, assuring that those presenting with emergent problems are seen first. Assists CRMC departments with educational in-services for employees, immunization clinics and infection control.
Essential Job Functions:

• Performs general nursing duties which include:
• Takes and records patient history in electronic health record.
• Assesses and records vital signs, height, and weight in electronic health record.
• Observes, records and reports information, signs and symptoms pertinent to patient’s condition and patient care.
• Administers all medications, including injections, as ordered by physician/PA.
• Maintains accurate record of all narcotics in stock and distributed including injections.
• Maintains proper lock up of all narcotics.
• Maintains accurate record of all injections, and other medications i.e., oral and topical administered and distributed.
• Prepares patient for exam and procedures as ordered by physician.
• Performs/assists in procedures with physician as ordered.
• Prepares equipment, making certain all necessary items are available.
• Assists with exam as directed by physician.
• Fills out necessary requisitions for referrals to other departments.
• Assists in other departments as may be appropriate.
• Checks daily lab and x-ray results making follow-up phone calls as necessary.
• Makes other follow-up phone calls as necessary or as directed by physician.
• Screens patient phone calls to physician in order to advise or determine if patient should be seen.
• Takes/places phone calls and messages for physician.
• Notifies hospital of patient referral or transfer.
• Assists with scheduling hospital/specialist referrals.
• Maintains sanitary conditions in department at all times.
• Assures that adequate stock of medical supplies are available, notifying supervisor when supplies are low.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and has strong knowledge of HIPAA.
• Performs other related duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Knowledge of electronic health record system.
• Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with physicians and District employees is essential.
• Valid Nursing license is required.
• Certification/Education Requirements depending on position:
• LPN: Completion of a formal education program for licensed practical nurses.
• RN: Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred. Associate degree with acceptable experience in either an ambulatory care or tertiary care setting may be substituted. Valid nursing license is required.

• LPN: Pay scale starts at $20.04/hour up to $21.54/hour depending on experience.
• RN: Pay scale starts at $29.00/hour up to $31.81/hour depending on experience.
