ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Strategic planning of Technical needs for the medical imaging department, to include Diagnostic Center; aligning with the strategic technical needs of the hospital.
  • Coordinate and communicate throughout intergration projects with all project team members.
  • Management of RIS/PACS implementation processes including order review, project planning, resource scheduling and coordination, VRH specific system configuration design, and equipment scheduling.
  • Manage day to day operation of PACS equipment including image workflow, archiving, routing, prefetching, correcting broken (jailed) studies, editing patient demographics, and HIS/EMR/RIS interface
  • Document and communicate specific issues identified by clinical users with respect to service issues, updates, progress and resolutions.
  • Escalate and be an advocate for customer support, issues, and problems.
  • Initiate switchover to systems and/or components for backup procedures as necessary and report any system or component failures to manufacturer/tech support as necessary, coordinating resolution to issues.
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly routine maintenance procedures as required.
  • Support application programmers and end user groups and communicate any requests for moves, additions and changes to the system.
  • Monitor clinical workflow procedures and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Conduct system/component training
  • Serve as PACS/RIS liaison to other departments.
  • Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested.
  • Participates in staff development and education activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and qualified to perform.

Required Education/Training:

  • Registered in the appropriate modalitie(s) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or through the ARDMS for Ultrasound if applicable
  • Graduate of an Accredited Program in Science or Technology
  • Active BLS

Preferred Education/Training:

  • Two years’ experience in technology

Other Qualifications:

  • Licensed with the State of NH for Radiologic Technology (if a Technologist)
