Title: Right-of-Way Agent - Independent Contractor

Status: Remote with traveling
Location: Remote, near Shreveport, LA

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain working relationships with landowners;
- Conduct negotiations with landowners, attorneys and commercial groups to acquire easements for electrical facilities;
- Review project construction prints and exhibits
- Make independent decisions within established parameters on how to best approach landowners and proceed with surface negotiations;
- Research landowner contact information;
- Work closely with administrative team for document preparation;
- Explain project to landowners, including expectations, procedures, ownership breakdowns, timing and financial arrangements;
- Pull necessary title documents to support surface operations;
- Review and understand agreement packets and other necessary documents related to transaction
- Attend project update meetings and provide project updates via email.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A minimum of one year experience in surface acquisition;
- Intermediate familiarity with computer applications including, Word, Excel and Google Drive;
- Ability to prioritize and organize work in order to satisfy project deadlines;
- Possess a high level of professionalism and standard of ethics;
- Work outside of normal business hours and travel may be required;
- Local to operating area or willing to travel to operating area;
- Must pass criminal history background check (federal and state);
- Currently have or obtain an IRWA membership
- Currently have or become a WV Notary, VA Notary, or both (TBD.)
