The RF Network Engineer position is a vital position within the RF Communication Services team and will take on the responsibilities for planning and coordinating the design, installation and support for wired and wireless radio systems hardware, software and other components used in the day to day support of DEN’s Public Safety Radio, UHF, VHF, and other mission critical radio communication services. In this role, the candidate will analyze current and future solutions, systems, and recommend, design, and implement solutions and/or enhancements to meet the growth and expectations of the DEN user community.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze RF design requirements, plan design workload and manage deliverables and timelines
  • Conduct and attend scoping, progress and completion meetings in-person and remotely as required
  • Communicate and meet design lifecycle timelines and expectations
  • Plan, execute and successfully close out site surveys to gather relevant design details onsite
  • Collect, organize and manage all design-related data within company databases and repositories including RF Benchmark Data
  • Site Survey Collection Information
  • Design Notes and scope tracking
  • Project timelines and all deliverables
  • Support other functional groups with respect to designs and planning
About You
We are looking for candidates for some or all the following skills and experience:
  • 2-5 years relevant and progressive experience in In-Building Wireless RF systems design, deployment, commissioning, or testing
  • Design, review, install, repair, and manage equipment used in RF Communication Systems such as:
    • P-25 800MHz Trunked radio system
    • Land mobile radio, cellular radio, point-to-point microwave, and unlicensed band radios
    • VHF Air-to-Ground Radio System(s)
  • Able to perform engineering/scientific test, analyze data and write reports on systems under test.
  • Experience working with customers on their requirements, setting expectations, delivering and sustaining the solution that satisfy their requirements.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to manage, prioritize and evaluate multiple concurrent tasks
  • Strong proficiency in fiber fundamentals from a design perspective (both ISP and OSP)
  • Strong proficiency in fundamental RF engineering practices
  • Certifications in DAS commissioning and/or test equipment preferred Commscope Familiarity with basic Electrical, Electronic and Radio Frequency (RF) concepts.
  • Capable of developing test plans, executing laboratory test, and build test set-ups to characterize electrical, electronic, RF and Optical circuits.
  • Experienced in the use of RF test equipment such as: Spectrum Analyzer, Multimeter, Power Meter, Time Domain Reflectometer, Signal Generator, Service Monitor, Field Strength Meter
  • Relevant RF, LTE, Cellular, wired and wireless industry certifications
  • General Radio telephone Operator License
  • Distributed Antenna System certification

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics or a related field.
  • Experience: Three (3) years of professional Information Technology experience installing, maintaining, and/or modifying network operating systems to include both software and hardware.
  • Experience Equivalency: Three (3) years of professional Information Technology experience installing, maintaining, and/or modifying network operating systems to include both software and hardware.
  • Licenses: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
FBI Background Check: FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment. By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required.
Snow / Emergency Duties: Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees can be required to work extended hours and/or shifts.
