Job Summary: Reporting to the Director of Revenue Cycle, this position handles special projects for the Revenue Cycle Management Department as assigned. Provides for setup and maintains maximum efficiency and effectiveness with all EMR systems and the Waystar Clearinghouse. This position must have an expert level understanding of home health and hospice revenue cycle management duties to be effective in this role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Setup and maintenance required in EMR systems as assigned including payor setup
• Assist with integration to HCHB EMR system for all new locations
• Closeout of all AR items in old EMR systems maintenance of any line items credits/debits
• Assume complete RCM duties upon assignment date for any new acquisition and follow thru to HCHB transition and close out of old EMR
• Assist with Setup and maintenance of the Waystar Clearinghouse
• Assist with Audits, Medical Review tracking, or other payor projects as needed & assigned
• HIS and Oasis provide either primary or backup support as assigned for transmissions and validations
• Provides coverage for the billing team to cover critical tasks when staff are out of office for extended lengths of time
• Assist with set up and maintaining of room and board process for assigned locations and EMR systems
• Transmission and validation of 837 files as requested
• Assist with Hospice Physician billing as requested
• Assist with HIS/Oasis transmission and validations as requested/assigned
• Assist with Unbilled report distribution as needed
• HCHB Superuser participation
• Hospice Q-code review & update as assigned
• Assist with hospice AP including RNB process as needed or assigned
• Provide education for billing and other RCM tasks as requested
• Participation on teams as assigned/requested

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years Billing and RCM experience in home health and/or hospice industry

• Extensive experience in home health and hospice billing requirements
• Experience in multi-state billing for home health and hospice service lines
• Extensive knowledge of home health & hospice policies, procedures, regarding RCM duties; and regulatory requirements for Medicare & Medicaid; and the ability to locate and translate payor contract documents regarding the billing & other RCM tasks listed.
• Ability to professionally communicate verbally and in writing across the various departments and branch offices of The Care Team
• Extensive knowledge of the HIPAA regulations in those areas that pertain to the RCM Department.

Regulatory Requirements:

• Must pass a criminal background check & MVR check
• Completed health statement acknowledging ability to perform the duties of the position.

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent is required
• College degree in Business related specialty is desired when experience does not meet the 5 year requirement.
