Summary:
Responsible for the Center for Dental Health revenue cycle processes and activities. Ensures timely and accurate claim submission, remittance posting, and statement processing. Works with Clinic team to ensure correct patient payments are collected and appropriate follow-up for accounts receivables is completed. Produces accounting reports for month end processing.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Formal Education Required:
a. Associate’s degree in business, accounting, or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

2. Experience & Training Required:
a. Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in dental patient accounting which has provided knowledge of complete billing process to include experience with dental insurance verification, front-desk registration duties or related medical office roles and experience working with an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
b. Working knowledge of dental/medical billing procedures, computers, calculators, and other equipment used in Financial Services

3. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
a. Excellent knowledge of dental terminology and CDT codes.
b. Demonstrated understanding of the variations in insurance plans and requirements for billing processes.
c. Critical thinking and excellent analytical skills necessary for problem solving complex revenue cycle issues.
d. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with those contacted in the course of work.
e. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to reach decisions and solve problems.
f. Ability to prioritize work effectively.
g. Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient, employee, and financial information
h. Ability to interact with populations of patients with an understanding for their needs of self-respect and dignity.

4. Level of Physical Demands:
a. Sedentary: Exerts up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently
