The Revenue Cycle Manager will oversee client accounts, manage internal staff and help to resolve any revenue cycle matters, included but not limited to submission, A/R follow up, denials, appeals, rejected claims, payment posting and any other billing related issues.

This position will work onsite at our corporate location in West St. Paul, MN and reports directly to the Director of Finance. Our organization provides a variety of person-centered services to individuals with developmental disabilities throughout the state of Minnesota.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate the Revenue Cycle team and functions to ensure our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Responsible for direct supervision of personnel, including orientation, ongoing coaching and annual evaluations
  • Oversees the operations of the billing department, claim submissions, payment posting, accounts receivable follow-up and denial management.
  • Serves as the RCM expert for the EHR billing and revenue categorization and accounts receivables processes.
  • Plans and manages staff workloads, proper insurance documentation, accounts receivables and collection, and data processing to ensure accurate balances and efficient account collections.
  • Reviews and assures resolution of issues related to claim generations, clean claim ratios, and rejected or denied billings.
  • Prepares and analyzes revenue cycle related reports and assures department is meeting or exceeding benchmark metrics and KPIs.
  • Audits current processes to monitor and improve efficiency of accounts receivables and collection operations.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of operating policies and procedures.
  • Assures HIPAA and other industry regulation standards as well as business office standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate on process improvement initiatives as needed.
  • As a working manager, is the backup to the billing staff.
  • Carries out other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Finance.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises employees assigned to the billing team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include:

  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Timecard and time off approvals, performance evaluations.
  • Rewarding and correcting employees.
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Conduct personnel evaluations for employees supervised.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or health administration or related field or 5+ years equivalent experience in related fields
  • 3+ years of revenue cycle management and/or collections experience in health services.
  • Proficient in Excel/pivot tables and other MS 365 applications
  • In-depth understanding of claims processing, and payer contracts.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance, and medical billing processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
  • Work independently, take initiative, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented and organized and can gather information and solve claim problems quickly.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of medical records and other data.
