Retail & Landscape Program Coordinator Job at Bailey Nurseries, Inc.
Responsible for building relationships with garden centers and landscape channels and connecting them with our established network of licensed wholesale growers to create demand and generate sales for our consumer brands Endless Summer®, First Editions®, and Easy Elegance®.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and grow key business contacts to create demand and generate sales for our brands.
- Establish and execute merchandising programs as well as develop and build landscape programs by working with multiple audiences.
- Provide input to Marketing to develop appropriate marketing and sales tools to promote our brands to the retail and landscape channels.
- Represent Bailey and serve as brand spokesperson and ambassador at retail and consumer events.
- Prepare and make presentations at sales meetings, grower visits, tradeshows, and conferences.
- Assist with coordinating licensee related events, open houses, seminars, and workshops.
- Become an educational resource by developing expert knowledge of full product assortment for our licensed growers’ sales & marketing teams.
- Participate in sales visits with various sales teams to increase brand awareness, education, and confidence.
- Provide market intelligence that helps guide product development, marketing, and sales for both retail and landscape channels.
- Help build our retail photography library during store visits.
- Regularly visit retailers, licensed growers, and landscape partners to gain an understanding of each business and to better understand their needs.
- Other duties as dictated by business needs.
Qualifications:
- BS/BA Degree in Business, Marketing, Horticulture, and/or 3+ years of Nursery Sales/Marketing experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of the nursery trade, specifically retailers and growers
- Self-starter with the ability to work both with a team and independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills, oral, and written communication
- Enthusiasm and positive approach; high level of initiative and assertiveness
- Maintain discretion and confidentiality of company and customer proprietary information
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, Word, PowerPoint; ability to learn other software
- Able to travel – up to 40%
